Re: Number Portability Administration Center, Northeast Region

Over the past couple of days, NeuStar’s Number Portability Administration Center (NPAC) has been experiencing an interruption of service in the Northeast region.  The NPAC is the centralized point that enables local telephone companies to move customers from one local company to another while retaining the customer’s same telephone number.        

 

It is NeuStar’s number one priority to resolve these technical operation issues as quickly as possible.   NeuStar has been in constant communication with service providers in the Northeast region and is working closely with the industry to minimize service disruptions.

 

Historically, the NPAC system has operated at a 99.97% availability rate.  This is the first such incident in our five-year history of operating the NPAC.  NeuStar remains committed to continuing its high level of service to the communications industry.  

 

NeuStar will make an announcement once these issues have been resolved.
